Understanding the procedure

What is a penile implant?

A penile implant is a surgically placed device used to treat erectile dysfunction in selected patients. It is usually considered after other treatments are unsuitable or unsuccessful.

01

Talk to a urologist

A specialist can review your medical history, discuss treatments, and assess whether surgery is suitable.

02

Discuss implant choices

Options include inflatable devices, such as the Boston Scientific AMS 700 and Coloplast Titan, and non-inflatable types.

03

Plan for aftercare

Ask about costs, healing, follow-up, device support, complications and what to expect in the long term.

Important medical information. Surgery has risks, including infection, pain and device problems, and can permanently affect natural erectile function. This site does not provide personalised medical advice. Make decisions with a qualified specialist. Read the Mayo Clinic guide ↗

Questions people often ask

Is a penile pump the same as a penile implant?

The term “penile pump” can refer to either an external vacuum device or the internal pump component of an inflatable penile implant. They are different treatments. Here we focus mainly on surgically placed implants.

Are the hospitals connected to this website?

No. This is an independent information directory. The enquiry links take you to official provider websites; we do not make bookings or receive medical details through this site.

Can an implant be right for everyone?

No. A specialist must assess medical conditions, alternative treatments, expectations and surgical risks. Do not make treatment decisions based only on a website.

Does the search work for postcodes?

You can type a UK city or region, for example London, Winchester or Manchester. The directory does not yet calculate distance from a full postcode. This is a searchable directory, not a real-time availability service.

Can I pay for membership today?

Not yet. Membership prices are displayed as planned prices only; no payments are taken. The site owner must set up a secure payment processor and a protected content area before launch.
